WhatsApp tickets now come with one-tap wallet passes

Every ticket we deliver on WhatsApp now carries an Apple and Google Wallet pass — so the QR is one tap from the lock screen.

WhatsApp tickets now come with one-tap wallet passes

WhatsApp has always been where our tickets land — it's where buyers across the region already are, and it's the fastest path from "I bought a ticket" to "the ticket is on my phone." Today we're closing the last gap: every ticket we send now ships with an Apple Wallet and Google Wallet pass attached.

The change is small to describe and big at the door. Instead of scrolling back through a chat to find a QR, a holder taps the pass once and it's on the lock screen, brightened and ready to scan. No app, no account, no hunting.

Under the hood the passes are generated server-side the moment an order is fulfilled, alongside the PDF and the .ics calendar file we already include. If a pass fails to generate for any reason, the WhatsApp QR and the emailed PDF are still there — the wallet pass is an enhancement, never the only copy.

It's live now for every event on the platform, with nothing for organisers to switch on. The next step is live updates on the pass itself — gate changes, set-time shifts, and door-open reminders pushed straight to the pass without a new message.

The payment step part hits home. We lost so many sales before simplifying checkout — wish I'd read this a year ago.

Respectfully disagree on a few points, but this is the most thoughtful take I've seen on the scene in a while. More like this please.

Bought tickets to two events this month off the back of recommendations like these. Keep them coming.
