Cookie policy

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device to remember things between page loads and visits. We also use similar technologies — local storage, pixels, and device identifiers — and we refer to all of them as “cookies” here. Some are set by us; some are set by the partners whose services we use.

Required for the platform to work — keeping you signed in (a first-party session cookie we set ourselves), holding your cart during checkout, remembering your currency and language, and protecting against fraud and abuse, including a Cloudflare Turnstile bot check on the sign-in form. These are always on and never ask for consent, because the marketplace can't function without them. Your cookie choice itself is kept in your browser's local storage so we don't ask again.

With your consent, we and event organisers measure how pages and flows perform — how you arrived, which events you viewed, where checkout drops off — so we can improve them. Our own product telemetry is server-side and privacy-preserving: it strips cookies and email before anything is stored, and it never identifies you personally. We may also run analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Microsoft Clarity or Hotjar on the marketplace, and organisers may run them on their own event pages. Analytics stays off until you turn it on. Cookieless measurement (Plausible or Cloudflare Web Analytics), where we use it, sets no cookies and identifies no one, so it runs without asking.

With your consent, advertising and conversion tags — Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, LinkedIn, X and Pinterest — can run on the marketplace, to measure our own campaigns, and organisers can run them on their own event pages, to measure theirs. An organiser's tags load only on the events that enable them. Every one of them stays off until you accept marketing cookies, and a choice on one organiser's event page never switches tags on anywhere else.

When you first visit, the cookie banner lets you accept everything, reject everything non-essential, or save your own choice per category (Analytics, Marketing). Optional cookies start switched off, so nothing in those categories loads until you opt in. We remember your decision for next time. To change it, choose Cookie settings at the bottom of any page: the banner opens again with your current choice. An event page that asks for its own consent keeps its own choice, and Cookie settings reopens that one too. You can also block or clear cookies in your browser settings, though blocking strictly-necessary cookies will break sign-in and checkout.
